Ms Susan E. Wallace
Executive Director
Canadian Actors' Equity Association
44 Victoria Street
12th Floor
Toronto, Ontario

Dear Ms. Wallace,

I am in receipt of your letter and package dated May 26, 2005 expressing your concerns about the Delta Chelsea's "sponsorship" of the Blue Man Group.

Following our telephone conversation of this morning let me assure you that we value our long standing relationship with the Canadian Actor's Equity Association and it's affiliated unions, as well as all the other unions that we do business with, and that we would not intentionally take an action to place it in jeopardy.

The Delta Chelsea has been Toronto's theatre hotel since the early 1990's when we partnered with the Phantom of the Opera. Subsequently, we knave had partnerships with almost every other major theatrical production, which has helped to provide full employment for our unionized staff. Without these important alliances our staff would have been much more severely hurt than they were during the tough times of the early 90's recession, 9/11 and SARS.

As I mentioned, the Delta Chelsea was not a sponsor of the Blue Man Group. We were one of a number of hotels who agreed to publicize the Blue Man Group in order to continue our tradition of being branded as Toronto's theatre hotel. We thought that this was especially important as it could help generate more business for the hotel and consistent work for our employees as we enter into a very uncertain summer without any major theatre productions to attract tourists. We did not realize that you would have concerns with our promoting the Blue Man Group and we have addressed your concerns by removing all Blue Man Group promotional collateral from the hotel.

Ms. Wallace, our partnership with your organization is very important to us and we appreciate the excellent relationship we have established over the years.

Josef Ebner
