Dear Sir/Madam:

Re: Toronto Blue Man Group Production

On behalf of Canadian Artists' Representation Ontario/le Front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC
Ontario), I would like express my support to all the associations and unions who represent professional
performers, artists, musicians, directors, and technicians in Toronto. You have refused
to negotiate contracts with Toronto's major theatrical associations and unions: Canadian Actors'
Equity Association (CAEA), the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and
the Toronto Musicians' Association (TMA).

The Blue Man Group should be more understanding of the Canadian cultural environment.
Blockbuster productions such as Mama Mia and The Lion King have been phenomenally successful,
while still respecting the rights of artists and technicians. This is because they adhered
to the agreements laid out by Equity, IATSE and the TMA. These agreements reflect the
Canadian tradition, which has always ensured that our community's artists and technicians are
dealt with fairly, equitably and respectfully.

CARFAC Ontario represents the voice of 700 professional visual and media artists in the
province of Ontario. Our focus is on the economic livelihood and fair treatment of members
and non-members alike. We are very sympathetic to the work of our sister/brother organizations
and strongly insist that you make the effort to abide by and benefit from the rules that have
made Toronto the theatrical force that is.

Sincerely,

Kristian Clarke
Co-Director
